What is phishing? What is phishing hacking?
Phishing is an example of a strategy called social engineering. Trapped in this strategy, you can lose a lot of valuable information. For example, Facebook account username password, email account username password, bank account, urgent documents, ATM card confidential information, etc.
Simply put, the way we catch fish from the pond with food and fishing rods, just like we catch fish in the lure of food, we also fall prey to phishing in one or the other greed. Phishing is a method where you step in and give all your information to others but you don’t understand, by the time you realize your sky will be full of stars.
A few years ago, as a result of hacking Yahoo or Outlook clone, one hundred thousand Facebook accounts in different countries went into the hands of others. In Bangladesh, this attack has not taken many shapes. However, the most dangerous thing at the present time is the hacking of Facebook accounts using phishing sites.
A phishing site is an almost exact copy of a website. They may not be able to fully utilize the website link that the actual website contains (in some cases possible).
Usually, they use the links of the websites with slight changes. What looks normal we avoid or don’t pay much attention to. E.g. www.facebook.com if they change the link a little bit to www.faceboook.com or www.facebok.com, people will be deceived for not paying good attention.
Website links created by them will be sent to the target person’s inbox. By clicking on the victim’s link and logging in with Facebook (number + email) and password, all the information goes to the hackers. A lot of the time, just clicking can get a lot of valuable information into the hands of hackers.
Then began the hacker’s various threats and blackmail messages. However, threatening to spread personal pictures asking for money, etc.
What you can do to avoid phishing:-
- Don’t add strangers to your friends' list.
- Before downloading or clicking on any link/picture file / attached file sent by someone in messenger or email, check it thoroughly.
- Keep the 2-step approval option on Facebook.
- Keep the authorized login notification on.
- Do not click on any of the most tempting advertisements found on social media or various websites without being very enthusiastic. Be careful not to click. For example, a few days ago, a link to the dream super shop was coming, if you click, you will get an iPhone gift, etc. Stay 100 hands away from such links.
- If you see uninterrupted mail, check. But if someone wants to give you that or you have won the lottery, you should avoid such emails without any hesitation. Because if you do not benefit anyone, no one will give you free money. No one planted a money tree, halal money comes with difficulty, if it is haram, different thing! Yet people will not give you a share of haraam money!
- Please check the URL (web address) if you are already using this site and you are taken directly to a page that you need to log in.
There are so many reasons.
